Awards and Honors: National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship at Harvard; American Association of Higher Education Fellow; African American Historian Association of Niagara Frontier Award; Washington Center, Women as Leaders Institute; Students' Award for the Promotion of Respect for Diversity and Individual Differences.

Publication areas: History of higher education; historically black colleges; teaching the civil rights movement; civility in higher education; management and leadership; faculty development; Latinos in higher education.

Research interests: Historical foundations of higher education, strategic planning and finance, management systems, leadership, student movements.

Professor Davis is the Project Director for What Price Freedom? The Centennial Celebration of the Niagara Movement in Buffalo, New York
