Introduction

The only State University of New York (SUNY) college located in a metropolitan area, Buffalo State College offers unparalleled educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities. More than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students enjoy tremendous advantages at Buffalo State, both on campus and throughout the community. Buffalo State is the largest four-year college in the SUNY system, with more than 120 undergraduate academic programs in the arts, sciences, education, and professional programs. The 115-acre campus is safe, accessible, and attractive, with excellent arts, athletics, and research facilities. It comprises 36 buildings, including nine residence halls and a public elementary magnet school. The college also has two off-campus facilities, the Great Lakes Center for Environmental Research and Education and a student retreat camp, Whispering Pines.

At Buffalo State College, the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is one of our highest priorities. A safe and secure environment can be achieved only through the cooperation of all members of the campus community. This publication is part of our effort to ensure that this collaborative endeavor is effective. A prinatable version of this document is available for download here (PDF, 160KB). We hope that you read it carefully and use the information to help foster a safe environment for yourself and others.
